The fishing cat’s general distribution is southwest India, Sri Lanka, countries of the southern Himalayas, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand, Burma, China, and the Indonesian islands of Java and Sumatra. Including birds and snakes, the favourite it’s dish is obviously FISH.
That is why, Nature providently gave to this cat non-retractile claws and, to catch it’s dinner, fishing cat is even able to dive on the bottom of the river. But in spite of scrappers reputation they avoid to face the people.

This really curious and sweet looking animal is a species of fruit bat, living on the islands of the Malay-Indonesia archipelago.
First time I met them at Bali island during my last year’s winter vacation. I was incredible touched by their lovely character and ingenuous look.

(sweet, aren’t they?)

Flying foxes roost in trees by day, sometimes in camps. They hang from branches by feet, and elegantly wrap themselves in their dark wings, looking like tender lady in her silk raincoat. In this position they sleep most of the day. We were allowed to hold one and I could make a pic without any resistance from it’s side.

Their long long fingers are very convenient to pick fruits. They have special, sensitive sense of smell to feel flowers or ripened fruits. Really, the most beautiful animal which I met at Bali. Sorry, but I cannot put here my own pictures cuz I was topless there and therefore I don’t want to take aside your attention from flying foxes ))).

cordially yours,
Ksena.
