Shame on me, but I hadn’t known what to answer before I came across this site. These people are ready to help those who want to have their own Pet websites. Of course, this site can’t be called your own (I mean created on your own all the way from a to Z), but think about it, if you are an economist, or a lawyer (or whatever you are) it will take a lot of time for you to understand at least the basics of site creating and anyway, your first site can be really disgusting (sorry((()! Origin

Pugs considered to be one of the oldest breeds, due to some reliable resources they have originated before 400 BC in Asia. Although, it is not a commonly-recognized fact. There are some opinions as to the origin of the Pug as well. Some experts believe, pugs came from the Lowlands, and some claim them to be the result of crossing a small Bulldog. And, it is just a beginning, some really think, pugs are miniature form of the rare French Mastiff. Pugs became extremely popular in Victorian times, they were favourite pets at Tibetan monasteries. Later to keep pugs was exceptionally royalty privilege. Josephine, Napoleon’s wife, while in prison used pugs to sent secret messages to her husband. The official recognition by the AKC took place only in 1885.

Appearance

Pugs are very recognizable dogs. They possess compact, stocky  body, with a sleek coat (fawn, apricot, silver, black – possible colours, their muzzle is always black), and short ears. Eyes are very bright and expressive. Tails must be tightly curled, limbs are strong and straight.

Personality

Pugs are perfect watchdogs, they can keep your secrets, and regarded as truly loving, loyal, and affectionate companions. These dogs are very playful and social, clever, and are easily trained (but keep in mind, they are easily bored and are very sensitive, so severe punishments and loud tones are not welcomed). The pug is not a yapper, and it will love other pets, people, and guests. Although, they don’t need your undivided attention, pugs still need at least some portions of it.

Health problems and grooming

Pugs are prone to:

• allergies;
• breathing problems;
• flues;
• eyes’ weeping;
• skin problems;
• sometimes to an inflammation of the brain (mostly between the ages of 2 and 3);
• wheezing and snoring.

They are very easy to groom and take care of. However, the creases on the face MUST be cleaned on a regular basis. 

Appearance

Sphynx  regarded to be hairless cats, but, actually, it’s not true. They do have an almost invisible fur. And on the ears, tail, muzzle and feet short and soft hair is allowed.  It’s an amazing feeling to touch a Sphynx cat, it is so warm. Eyes are big, ears are full, possesses a tail of a rat. Bodies are not big but muscular with broad chest. As a rule, skin is wrinkled and paw pads are very thick, thus, a cat looks like an acrobat. Skin of Sphynx cats comes in a variety of colours. 

Personality

Many men, many minds. Many cats, many personalities. They are so versatile. In general, they are described as intelligent, extrovert, very playful, people oriented, active and loving. But some adore loneliness and stay in a solitude most of the day. Some adore being the center of attention. Almost all easily make friends with other pets, as well as children and guests.

Grooming

First of all, please, remember, Sphynx cats can’t stand cold weather conditions and sudden changes in temperature. It goes without saying, that these cats don’t need brushing, but they require regular bathing, to prevent oil build-up on the skin and a sticky film afterwards. Ears and areas near nails need regular and thorough cleaning.    

Appearance

Oriental Longhair cats can be characterized with one word – LONG. Almost everything is long: body, ears, legs, tails. But, cats themselves are of medium size and heads are small. Eyes are of almond shape, thus providing an impression of a really oriental guest. Their coats are longer than coats of Siamese cats and they come in a huge variety of colours.

Personality

Oriental cats are very vocal ones, they adore purring, meowing and drawing your attention in many other ways. Cats are very sociable, active, playful and people oriented. I like their peculiarity to keep their balance while jumping, sitting and even sleeping (for example, on computer monitors or radiators). They will provide you with a myriad of unforgettable moments. Orientals are intelligent, great companions.

Grooming

These cats don’t require extensive and often grooming.

These cats will hardly forget their initial destination, so, it’s much better for them to live closer to nature and ground and try to give them only necessary amount of food – most cats adore overeating.

Description

American Shorthair cats are powerful and muscular. Cats must be a bit longer than their tails. Faces should be full-cheeked and their expression tend to be very kind and open. Eyes are medium, sometimes large and always round. There are many colours of this breed, but the most popular one is the silver classic tabby.

Personality

These cats are very easy-going, sociable and people oriented. Adore playing and purring, while showing how much they love their owners. They are intelligent and perfect hunters. Ideal companions for other pets and small children. Top breeders always recommend them for busy people.

Grooming

The easiest part about American Shorthair cats. Brush them not more than thrice a week and bathe them not often than once every six weeks in order to prevent their skin from drying out.

Appearance

These cats are of medium-size, very elegant with strong bodies and long, rather thin legs. Paws are small. Heads are round with large, pointed ears. Eyes are large and almond-shaped. Tails are long. There are 4 possible colours of Abyssinian cats: ruddy, red, blue and fawn.

Personality

In general, Abys are very intelligent, active and curious cats. They adore their family, most of all they hate being alone, without their family or other pets. They are so social, playful, friendly and loyal. They enjoy heights and exploring new places and their own houses.

Grooming

The Abyssinian’s coat is very easy to clean and take care for. Just brush a coat and then polish it with a damp leather, thus, it will shine.
