On September 12 there was a great event in the city of Malolos, Philippines. there took place an amazing competition between pigs in costumes. Frankly speaking, it is a completely new event and it took place for the first time. According to the organizers of the festival, the idea behind the competition is to turn pigs into stars and celebrities. All the pigs were amazingly dressed! Choose the best one!

What I see here is an assault on these animals’ dignity. This kind of thing perpetuates the human tendency to regard other living beings on Earth as our playthings.
In fact, many people have the loathsome attitude that animals have no dignity, no feelings and no soul. They believe that animals were put here for us to do with what we want.
Pigs are amongst the most abused animals on the planet, kept in horrifying conditions in battery farms. A lucky few are kept as pets, cold comfort to their tortured (and torture is the right word) brethren. I notice you never seem to cover that.
Shame on you for posting this – these are not dolls, these are living, thinking, feeling creatures. This is only funny if you think that they ARE our playthings.
I thought this blog was maintained by an animal lover – was I wrong? People who truly love animals (and don’t forget that we too are animals) don’t treat them as playthings, or applaud such behaviour.
