Popular, intelligent, beautiful, very social and active cats. They look like real oriental representatives, although the origin of this breed is not known for sure. Since the 20st century, they are one of the most widespread cats in Europe and North America.
Despite many misunderstandings, Siemese cats are really people-oriented, loving and perfect companions. They are friendly, active, affectionate, very vocal, adore playing with both adults and children. These cats are very devoted and loyal, very often they are called “extroverts”.
Appearance:
A typical Siemese has a rather big body with fine-boned legs and a long tail. Ears are large, coat is short and eyes are so beautiful – bright and blue. As a rule, they come in the following colours: blue, chocolate, lilac and seal. Cream, red, lynx and tortie are created by outcrossing.
Cats are very elegant, a bit haughty, but very attractive.
Grooming:
Some cats really enjoy brushing, but actually, they don’t need it badly.
Bad and good habits:
First of all, bad features:
- Sometimes, when they are alone at home, these cats like to be up high (on the top of fridges, bookcases, tables etc.)
- Too loud;
- Eyes are often glazed over.
Good features:
- They are very domesticated cats;
- Loving, caring and kind breed;
- Prices are not very high;
- Very intelligent cats;
- Require very little grooming.
Have you ever owned one?

I’ve owned a Siamese and can attest that they are fantastic companions. They will happily have a conversation with you. Never turn your back on them in the kitchen, or you may lose your dinner – they are quick, stealthy thieves at times! Siamese cats are just a little different from every other cat; they will, if you train them young enough, go for walks with you on a harness. My cat enjoyed playing with water, even IN water! They can be finicky eaters and the best advice is to give them good, fresh food: cooked chicken, raw chicken necks or wings, fresh mince and fish. And of course, they will, every time, choose the most comfortable seat in the house to make their own. When you own a Siamese you become a willing slave, and don’t regret a minute of it.

I just lost my Siamese cat. He was 17 years old. It broke my heart to have him put to sleep. He was so smart, understood every word I said. I would like another one, but I’m not sure I can go through the pain of losing another one. I miss him so much.
I completely agree with you )
what lovely pictures – i was doing a blog on my Mum’s Siamese cats – I’ve linked to your site.
Yes, Siamese are wonderful. My mom just gave me a kitten. Her name is Marie and she is 5 months. So wonderful… only she likes to get up early in the morning to eat. She loves to listen to harp and piano music. She is a very content kitten. She gets along well with my other cat who is 7 years old. They are good companions.
I have a siamese seal point and that cat is a joy to have. very vocal and playful. he’s 4 and he’s a special kitty
I am sorry for the loss of your kitty. I had a japenese bobtail I had to put down. he was 18. It was painful to do that. I have a siamese who is 4 and I am very glad to have him. I had never had a siamese b4 and he’s a joy to have. If u can find it in your heart to get another kitty I would. they are the greatest companions in the whole world

I have a 6month old lilac point siamese..we call him gremlin..he is the most laid back kitten ever..he constantly wants to be on you..you have to watch your feet cause he’s gurenteed to be under them..he doesn’t really meow that much..(I was supprised because I hear there supposed to be very vocal..)..he does nick your food though..he get’s on really really well with our labrador..they sleep,eat, play and do everything together..he is also very very tolerant of my 2yr old and 6 month old kids..my 6 month old daughter pulls on his fur and sucks on his ears..and he doesn’t mind one bit..he never scratches he is lovely..only problem..if the litter tray is not completley clean..he will not use it..and will wee on the kids things..apart from that..he’s adorable..everyone that meets him loves him..☺..
