Ragdoll Cats are large, attractive, highly easygoing and very loving. It’ll be really challenging to find a better pet, than a Ragdoll. The first Ragdoll Cat was created by breeding a white female Persian to a male Birman. In happened in the early 1960s in California. Ann Baker, the woman who made this breeding, made a lot for this breed standardization and development.
Origin of a Name
These cats took their name from their common habit of relaxing while to the point of utter limpness in one’s arms.
Appearance
Ragdolls are rather large and heavy cats, possessing broad chests. Females are smaller than males. Eyes are large, blue and oval. Ears are large and rounded. Coats are of medium-long and tails are really bushy. Fur around necks is longer than the rest of it. There are 3 general accepted patterns of Ragdoll cats: “mitted”, “colorpoint”, and “bicolor” and 4 colours: “chocolate”, “blue”, “seal”, and “lilac” (also known as “frost”).
Personality
Ragdoll cats are warm, intelligent, completely non-aggressive and indoor. Some people say, they have a so-called non-fighting instinct, when they are attacked, these cats don’t even try to defend themselves. They adore being with people: both members of your family and guests, play with them. They are not very vocal.
Grooming
Their fur is not very bushy, so they need only occasional grooming and it goes as easy as ABC.
