Creature Feature: Hedgehogs Funny Facts

Hedgehogs are funny small animals with prickly spines everywhere but for their face, bellies and legs. They are so well-known because of their peculiarity to curl into a tight ball in order to protect parts of their bodies without spines. Thus, neither enemies nor predators will attack it.

Interesting facts about hedgehogs:

• eat mice, worms, birds, slugs, adore eggs and various plants/fruits;
• hedgehogs are nocturnal animals, hibernate from November to the end of March;
  

  

• hedges can be found in woods, parks, farmland, gardens;
• in the wild hedgies live up to 3 years and in captivity - up to 10 years;
