Winter is a handicapped dolphin since its childhood. She was found as a frail, dehydrated 3-month-old fish in December 2005. She was tangled in the buoy line of a crab trap. There was a bad trauma in her tail, the whole team of the center tried their best to save her tail, but they failed.

It took scientists and doctors more than 4 years to create an artificial tail for the dolphin. But their attempts were successful and right now Winter is learning how to swim with a new tail.

But I have never known how kind and fearless they are. I am ready to bet, you haven’t either. This story happened a couple of months ago. Mila the Beluga Whale saved diver’s life by pushing her to the surface.

It was a very strange and even dangerous (to some extent) morning in La Jolla. People woke up from … shaking. It was the aftermaths of the earthquake. According to witnesses, doors and windows were rattling. The saddest thing was actually right after the quake – people found a lot of Humboldt squid flapping around on La Jolla Shores beach.

People claimed that those squids were heavy, very slippery, and completely disoriented after the earthquake.

These spices of squids are known for attacking scuba divers. Humboldt squid live at depths of 660 to 2,300 feet in the eastern Pacific. Such a squid reaches up to 6 feet and weighs as much as 100 pounds. I don’t want to meet one …

Well, well, well, finally you are an owner of a tropical fish tank and you have chosen your one out of thousands of another tropical fish tanks. Sad to say it but most people DO believe that fish don’t need either care or attention, everything you have to do – is simply to buy a tank and to enjoy fish as they are. It’s not true at all and the first thing I would like to tell you – your tank even won’t look great if you don’t decorate it properly. Hope the following tips will help you:

Tropical fish tank decorations are both beautiful and very useful. They are homes, hiding places and borders for fishes. With the help of such decorations you can easily make caves and holes and crevices in you own tank. A happy and healthy aquarium is impossible without decorations.

Plants

First of all, they make a tank beautiful and attractive. All tropical fish love such plants because they remind them of their natural habitats. There are thousands of such plants and you can choose any you like. Plants are useful for water and help to keep in clean.

Rocks and Corals

Numerous stones are amazing decorations, they look festive. You’d better choose fake rocks, because they don’t contain toxins and are not very expensive. Corals are very nice and attractive, but be careful they can be dangerous to fresh water fish tank.

Grave

Frankly speaking, I can’t imagine a tank without grave, because namely grave make it colourful and beautiful. It comes in a number of colours.

Be attentive and take care of your tank. A lot of decorations tend to grow algae and it can be very hard to clean them. Good luck and have a nice tank and amazing tropical fish!

Have you ever seen coral fish? As a rule, they are bright and bold and rather pretty creatures. But everything is not that easy and some scientists claim colour of fish is probably a form of communication, and some of them are already known to people …

Fish colour is a very useful thing, because it helps this or that fish to find mates and then tells the rest of the animal world dwellers information about this particular creature: whether it is dangerous or not, for example.

What is more, fish can either brighten or darken their hues and in this way they express appreciation and aggression or fear correspondently. It is a big problem that people and other animals don’t understand these important sings.

There are a lot of fish that ‘glow’ in the ultra-violet and it is a kind of self-defense, because they are to some extent invisible to people and seen by other fish.

Let me tell you, that killer sharks have been never officially recorded in British waters before. A local fisherman took the following picture and at a close look it seems to be a huge fin displayed on it.

However, in 2005 the country was full of possible Mako man-eating shark reports. The latest pictures were taken by experienced surfer, Dan Harding, who was surfing in Cornwall with his friends. Some people don’t believe that these are sharks on the photos, may be dolphins and a painful imagination.
