There is a common misconception, that cats have 9 lives and dogs can’t frostbite their legs. Do you still believe it is a true statement? Oh, my dears, you’ve never got a Pekinese pet. Her paws are so gentle and she can’t stand severe winter conditions. She, because I have a girl dog. Since the birth and in early ages dog’s pads are soft and very pleasant to touch but in the course of time, because of colds, cuts, inappropriate cleaning they can become tough. That’s why various shoes and boots are aimed to protect your dogs paws and pads.

Of course, having bought a coat you almost ought to buy boots or shoes. Your dog will be so grateful to you! Main functions of these accessories are to make your pet feel comfortable in any natural conditions and to keep it both warm and dry during severe winds and extremely low temperatures. Be sure, your pet is ready to a long winter period!

To tell the truth, we got used to the following point of view - animals are not people, so, everything for their comfort is foreseen by nature, thus, they can’t frostbite legs and etc. But, just imagine yourself walking barefoot when it is minus 25 above zero? Amazing picture, yeah? So, we deal with pets, do you hear me? Not with wolves or wild cats. They are home creatures, they used to live in warm houses, apartments and flats, they can hurt their legs, especially such dogs as: Chihuahuas and Miniature Pinschers. Moreover, there are a lot chemicals on our roads, for example, from salt dog’s paws can crack - it is so painful. I want to add one more point in favour of clothes for pets - dogs are much more difficult to dry than people, and any coat, jacket, raincoat will preserve them from getting cold and … wet.

Amazing contrast

Be ready, shoes for pets are difficult to wear and pets need a plenty of time to get used to them…

Tips for Wearing Dog Shoes

  • don’t worry, the first 3 or 5 times dogs will walk so strange. Why? Because, out of the blue their feet became a little bit heavier and bulkier;
  • try to wear shoes on your dog before walks - any dog needs some time to get acquainted with them and adopt to shoes;
  • cut nails of your pets;
  • don’t make your dog wear shoes for very long periods of time;
  • simply praise your dog - 5 minutes of walking - a candy or a bone!

Oh, I love the pictures. My little chihuahua Rosie could use those shoes, as she hates, and I mean “hates” to walk on wet grass. We just adopted her in July so I don’t know yet how she’s going to handle the snow, but we’ll be finding out soon enough I’m afraid.
